Reviving Malang's Distinctive Batik Motifs
Malang's distinctive batik motifs had almost become mere stories. A BWKS Kriya alumni refused to let them disappear.
She travelled to meet old batik makers, opened archives, and reassembled patterns long unmade. Each motif carries a story: the monument, the mask, local flowers.
Now those cloths are made again, worn at alumni gatherings, becoming a bridge between the past and a generation just discovering them.
